Booking & Cancellation Policy
Rescheduling is free with 3+ hours’ notice. Inside 3 hours, appointments cannot be rescheduled: the full fee is due, and a new appointment is a new booking. A signer is a person whose signature the document requires — each must be present with a valid ID. The document determines the signers: a title sale requires both buyer and seller, a loan every borrower, a power of attorney the person granting it, and some documents both spouses — ask when you book and we’ll confirm exactly who must be there. Having every signer present is the booking customer’s responsibility, and policy fees are charged to the customer who booked — even when the absent signer is another party. If all signers are not present 20 minutes after the official appointment time, the appointment is a no-show, billed at the full fee — as is a signing that can’t be completed because a qualified witness or a valid ID is missing.
The Streetcar Guarantee. We stand behind every notarial act we perform. If a document notarized by Streetcar Notary is refused by a court, agency, lender, or other recipient because of a defect in our notarization, including the notarial certificate, seal, date, venue, or the identification procedure we performed, we will return and cure the defect at no charge, on priority scheduling. If the defect cannot be cured, we will refund the full fee for that visit.
This guarantee covers our work, which is the notarization itself. It does not cover rejection for reasons unrelated to our notarial act, such as the content or legal effect of documents we did not prepare, a recipient’s policy against remote or electronic notarization, requirements a recipient adds or changes after the signing, facts a signer misstated to us, or alterations made to a document after our seal was applied. Where a concern like these is visible at booking or at the table, we flag it before you pay us, not after.
To make a claim, email [email protected] within twelve months of the signing with the recipient’s stated reason for refusal. The remedy under this guarantee is cure or refund of the fee paid; it does not limit any rights you have under Louisiana law. Streetcar Notary carries $100,000 in errors and omissions coverage.
